Aug. 4
11 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Mockingbird Loop. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the road. Officers located the car which was unoccupied, but were not able to locate the owner.
3:40 p.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue S. While monitoring traffic speed, an officer observed a vehicle traveling at 48 mph in a 30-mph zone. The officer conducted a traffic stop and issued a citation to the driver for speeding.
Aug. 5
6:43 p.m. Driving complaint. Second Street S. Police responded to a driver who stated he was having medical-related issues. Authorities had a friend of his drive him home and advised him to not drive while feeling ill.
8:30 p.m. Suspicious person. Sartell Lane. Authorities responded to a report of a group of suspicious people selling raffle tickets throughout a neighborhood. Upon arrival, police could not locate the group but determined they were legally able to be there under city ordinances.
Aug. 6
2:45 p.m. Animal complaint. Officers responded to a report of several dogs running around off their leashes at a local residence. The officers made contact with the owner who advised he would try to figure out where they are escaping from his fenced-in yard.
5:15 p.m. Verbal dispute. Twin Rivers Court. Officers responded after receiving a complaint of a verbal dispute at a local business. The customer was upset because a portion of her order was not given to her. Officers spoke with management and advised they fill her order. No further action was taken.
Aug. 7
4:04 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Sixth Street N. Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the street. Officers made contact with the driver who stated he was waiting for his friend to arrive so they could head up north for the weekend. No further action was taken.
9:45 p.m. Gunshot. Fifth Avenue N. Police responded to a call regarding gunshots in a local neighborhood. The officers made contact with several of the homeowners in the area who believed it was simply fireworks. Nothing suspicious was found, and the area was cleared.
Aug. 8
1:20 p.m. Verbal dispute. Perimeter Drive. Officers were called to a verbal dispute between two neighbors. The parties were arguing about a barking dog. The officers were able to diffuse the situation and advised the parties to call the police if there were issues in the future.
