1:41 p.m. Traffic stop. 19th Avenue N. A vehicle was witnessed traveling 56 mph in a posted 40-mph zone. The driver stated she was unaware of her speed. She was issued a citation and released.
6:11 p.m. Alarm. Troop Drive. Officers responded to an alarm at a closed business. The building was cleared and no one was found in the area.

11:55 a.m. Unwanted person. Third Street S. A complaint was made regarding an adult male refusing to leave a residence. Officers arrived and spoke to the male. He agreed to leave and not return without further incident.
10:25 p.m. Suspicious person. Riverside Avenue N. A report was made regarding an unknown person in a resident’s yard. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone outside the residence. The resident thought maybe they were cutting through.
Dec. 11
12:17 a.m. Suspicious activity. Hi-Vue Drive. A report was made regarding four unknown males crawling under an unoccupied trailer. Officers arrived and found the residents were home and had not heard anything. Original reporter provided false information.
11:57 a.m. Welfare check. Twin Rivers Court. A request was made to check on an adult male, in a wheelchair, with a sign and possibly sleeping. The male was gone upon officer arrival but had left his garbage behind, that officers picked up.
11:02 p.m. Noise complaint. 15th Street South. A complaint was made regarding the noise coming from a residence. An officer spoke to the homeowner and they agreed to keep the noise down.
Dec. 12
8:13 a.m. Domestic. Third Street S. A report was made regarding several people fighting inside a residence. Officers arrived and spoke to all the parties separately. The stories were inconsistent and all stated they would be calm for the evening and no assistance was needed.
11:05 p.m. Warrant. Second Street S. Warrant. An arrest warrant was issued for an adult male. The male was located and placed under arrest without incident.

12:22 a.m. Noise complaint. Sunset Ave. A complaint was made regarding loud music coming from a residence. Officers spoke to the homeowners, who agreed to turn it down.
7:57 p.m. Noise complaint. Second Street S. A complaint was made regarding loud music coming from a business. An officer spoke to an employee, who stated they would turn it down.
9:52 p.m. Suspicious activity. Greenwood Lane. A report was made regarding an unknown person outside a residence and a dome light found on in a vehicle. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone.

12:26 a.m. Domestic. Hi-Vue Drive. A report was made regarding an adult female coming into a business stating she was physically attacked by an adult male. Officers arrived and spoke to the female and found evidence of a physical assault. Officers located the male and he was taken into custody without incident.
2:39 p.m. Unwanted person. CR 120. A complaint was made regarding an adult male refusing to leave a business. Officers arrived and asked him to leave. The male left without incident.
8:02 p.m. Suspicious activity. First Street N.E. A complaint was made regarding an unknown adult male looking in a dumpster. Officers located the male, who stated he was leaving.

6:17 a.m. Theft. Second Street S. A report was made regarding an unknown male found in a construction building. Officers arrived and cleared the building and were unable to locate the male. Nothing was found out of place or missing; the male was possibly searching for shelter and heat for the night.

9:44 a.m. Theft. Victory Avenue. A report was made regarding multiple rolls of copper wiring taken some time overnight.
8:58 p.m. DWI. Fifth Avenue N. A report was made regarding a vehicle driving slowly through a neighborhood multiple times. An officer located the vehicle and witnessed the vehicle swerve in the roadway. The driver emitted an odor of alcoholic beverages and an open container was seen in the vehicle. The driver was unable to pass field sobriety testing. She was placed under arrest without incident.

10:25 a.m. Theft. CR 120. An employee was witnessed using a stolen gift card. She stated she was unaware and that it was her card to use. She was issued a citation and released.
7:26 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Fourth Avenue N.E. A report was made regarding an unknown vehicle parked in front of a residence. An officer located the vehicle and found the driver was waiting for a friend to come home nearby.
Dec. 18
2:21 a.m. Altercation. 15th Street S. A report was made regarding a physical altercation between two adult males. Officers arrived and found the men separated. One male was intoxicated and failed to pay for a cab. After being escorted inside to retrieve money, he paid the fare and the driver did not want to pursue any charges. No further action was taken.
4:18 p.m. Welfare check. Twin Rivers Court. Multiple calls were made regarding an adult male in a wheelchair sitting on the side of the roadway. Officers are aware of the male, as he frequents the area. He was leaving upon officer’s arrival.
Dec. 19
5:21 a.m. Unwanted person. Twin Rivers Court. A complaint was made regarding an adult male sleeping inside a business. An officer arrived and found the male to be intoxicated but able to care for himself. The officer transported the male to a nearby hotel.
9:56 p.m. Altercation. CR 120. A report was made regarding an adult male and female arguing outside a business. An officer located them and found the argument was only verbal and they needed no assistance.

12:36 a.m. DWI. Riverside Avenue. A report was made regarding a vehicle driving erratically. An officer located the vehicle and witnessed it swerving on the roadway. The officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the driver. She was unable to pass field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest without incident.
2:51 p.m. Motorist assist. Scout Drive. While on patrol, an officer saw an adult female attempting to change her tire. The wheel was unable to be removed so the officer transported her to her residence.
9:37 p.m. DWI. Highway 15. While on patrol, an officer witnessed a vehicle swerving on the roadway. The driver emitted the odor of alcoholic beverages. He was unable to pass field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest without incident.

2:17 p.m. Theft. An adult male was witnessed attempting to leave the store with unpaid merchandise. The male admitted to the theft and was issued a citation.
3:52 p.m. Welfare check. Several reports were made regarding a person on top of the water tower. An officer arrived and found the tower was being worked on and no assistance was needed.

2:22 p.m. Theft. An adult female was witnessed leaving the store with unpaid merchandise. The female was located and returned to the store. She was issued a citation.
Dec. 23
9:27 p.m. Domestic. Sundance Road. A report was made regarding an adult male receiving threats from a person he met on an online dating site. Officers advised the male to not send any money to the person. The information was sent to the suspect’s local police department.
9:47 p.m. Hazard. 15th Street S. Multiple reports were made regarding an injured deer in the roadway. An officer searched the area and was unable to locate the deer.

4:34 a.m. Suspicious activity. Fifth Avenue N. A report was made regarding an unknown vehicle looking in mailboxes in a neighborhood. An officer located the vehicle and found they were delivering newspapers.
9:31 p.m. Driving complaint. CR 133. A complaint was made regarding a vehicle swerving on the roadway. An officer was unable to locate the vehicle.
Dec. 25
5:58 a.m. Theft. River Oaks Lane. A report was made regarding a bicycle taken from a shed some time overnight.
10:45 p.m. Domestic. Fifth Avenue N. A report was made regarding an intoxicated male arguing and becoming aggressive toward people inside the residence. Officers arrived and found evidence of a physical altercation. The male was placed under arrest without incident.
Dec. 26
4:06 p.m. Domestic. Seventh Street N. A report was made stating a physical argument was possibly in progress between an adult male and an adult female. Officers arrived and found both parties separated. Both parties stated the argument was only verbal and had not gotten physical. The female decided to leave the residence and no further assistance was needed.
10:42 p.m. Public assist. Hwy 15. A report was made regarding a stalled vehicle in the roadway. An officer provided safety lights until the vehicle was removed by a tow truck.
Dec. 27
3:50 a.m. Suspicious activity. Fifth Avenue E. A report was made regarding a male possibly calling for help from a stairwell. An officer arrived and located an intoxicated male, sleeping on the stairs. He stated he only wanted to get inside his apartment. Officers assisted the male into his apartment and he stated he needed no further assistance.
11:38 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Riverside Avenue S. While on patrol, an occupied vehicle was found sitting at a closed business. The driver stated he was waiting for a friend to leave work. When he was advised of the closing time, the driver left the area.
Dec. 28
10:53 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Pinecone Road. A report was made regarding an unknown vehicle driving through a neighborhood and looking in mailboxes. An officer located the vehicle and found they were delivering newspapers.
9:51 p.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue N. A vehicle was witnessed traveling 42 mph in a posted 30-mph zone. The driver was found to have a suspended license and no proof of insurance. She was issued a citation for all violations and released to a valid driver.
Dec. 29
3:50 a.m. Suspicious activity. Connecticut Avenue. While on patrol, an officer located a vehicle with the trunk open. Nothing seemed to be out of order and the vehicle was secured.
3:42 p.m. Welfare check. CR 120. A report was made regarding an elderly female sitting outside without appropriate weather attire and asking for money. An officer checked the area, but the female was gone on arrival.
Dec. 30
1 a.m. Suspicious activity. CR 1. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person knocking on a door and stating he had been beaten up. When the homeowner asked if he should call the police, the male said no and took off running. The officers searched the area and were unable to locate the individual.
11:12 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Watab Park. While on routine patrol an officer observed a vehicle in the parking lot of Watab Park. The officer made contact with two individuals in the vehicle and advised them the park was closed, and they needed to leave. No further action was taken.
Dec. 31
8:45 p.m. Suspicious activity. Fieldcrest Court. Officers were called to a report of a person walking around her neighbor’s house with a flashlight. Officers arrived and observed a male running through some backyards. Officers were able to make contact with the individual and learned he was a resident of the house and was looking around with the light on his cell phone. No further action was taken.
3:38 p.m. Alarm. 23rd Street S. Officers were called to a report of a burglary alarm at a building. Officers arrived and made contact with the employee who advised he was unaware the door he entered had an alarm trigger on it. Officers cleared the scene.
Jan. 1
12:27 a.m. Gunshot. 13th Avenue N. Officers were dispatched to a report of either gunshots or fireworks. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate anything suspicious.
8:07 a.m. Suspicious vehicle. Town Line Road. While on routine patrol an officer observed a vehicle parked in a field. The officer made contact with the owner who advised he was just checking his traps.
Jan. 2
10:56 a.m. Hazard. CR 1. Officers were called to a report of a large moving truck blocking the road while attempting to back into a driveway. The caller stated the vehicle had been blocking the road for more than 15 minutes. When the officers arrived, they observed the vehicle in the driveway no longer blocking the roadway.
Jan. 3
3:26 a.m. Alarm. 23rd Avenue N. Officers were called to a report of an alarm at a residence. The officers made contact with the homeowner who stated they accidentally set the alarm off.
Jan. 4
2:30 p.m. Juvenile problem. Officers were dispatched to a report of several 911 hang up calls from a cell phone. The dispatchers advised the officers they heard giggling in the background and then the caller would hang up. Officers were able to determine who was calling and advised the juvenile’s parent what was going on. The parent advised they would talk to their child. No further action was taken.
Jan. 5
11:51 a.m. Found property. Seventh Street N.E. An officer was dispatched to a residence to retrieve some found property. The property manager found several hypodermic needles while cleaning a house. The officer took the syringes and placed them in a sharps container. No further action was taken.
Jan. 6
8:12 a.m. Public assist. Connecticut Avenue S. A driver locked his keys inside his vehicle. An officer was able to successfully unlock the vehicle.
11:54 p.m. Hit-and-run. Pinecone Road. While on patrol, an officer located a yield sign, which was hit by a vehicle, in the roadway. The sign was removed and no vehicle debris was left behind.
Jan. 7
3:45 a.m. Suspicious person. Riverside Avenue S. A report was made regarding an adult male walking away from a gas station with windshield wiper fluid. An officer spoke to an employee, who stated he was filling buckets and no one else was in the area.
5:06 p.m. Welfare check. Evergreen Drive. A report was made regarding an adult male in a wheelchair, slumped over. An officer located the male and found him in good health. He stated he did not need medical attention and no assistance was needed.
9:26 p.m. Agency assist. Second Avenue N. Sauk Rapids Police requested assistance with an adult male out of control and making threats. Officers entered the residence and located two adult men. One male was placed under arrest.
Jan. 8
5:12 a.m. Theft. Third Street S. A report was made regarding a wallet and keys taken from a residence some time overnight, while the resident was asleep.
3:49 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. 11th Avenue E. A complaint was made regarding an occupied vehicle parked in front of a residence. An officer located the vehicle and found it smelled of marijuana. There was paraphernalia in plain view of the officer. The vehicle was searched and the passenger admitted to the possession. He was issued a citation and all items were confiscated.
11:29 p.m. Domestic. 11th Avenue E. A report was made regarding an adult female and a juvenile female arguing and possibly becoming physical. Officers arrived and were able to de-escalate the situation. The juvenile female agreed to stay with a family member for the remainder of the evening. No further assistance was needed.
Jan. 9
4:07 a.m. Domestic. Seventh Street N. A report was made regarding an intoxicated female, out of control and becoming violent. Officers arrived and spoke to the female, who was primarily incoherent and unable to care for herself. She was transported to St. Cloud Hospital.
