April 4
12:45 a.m. Curfew. Second Street S. While an officer was on patrol, he noticed two people sitting on the sidewalk along the roadway that appeared to be minors. The officer stopped and made contact with the two individuals. It was found that both were in violation of curfew. The officer transported the girl home and spoke to her mother. The boy was transported to the police department where they awaited pickup from a parent. Verbal warnings given for curfew violation.
April 5
2:26 p.m. Shoplifting. CR 120. An officer was requested for a man and woman concealing merchandise in a store. The officer was informed the man had left the store with oil and an oil filter and placed it in a vehicle. The man came back in and met up with a woman who was concealing merchandise in a bag. The two passed all points of sale and did not attempt to pay for the merchandise. They were stopped by a store employee and escorted back to the loss prevention office. The officer issued the man and woman citations for misdemeanor theft. The woman had taken $74 worth of merchandise and the man had taken $54.51 worth of merchandise.
April 6
3:02 p.m. Parking violation. Connecticut Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a vehicle parked on the sidewalk next to a handicap parking spot. The caller could not access the ramps needed to get into their vehicle. The officer was able to have the business call the registered owner over the intercom in the store. The owner came and moved the vehicle into the proper spot and apologized for holding the caller up.
April 7
9:56 p.m. Suspicious vehicle. Riverside Avenue. An officer was requested by dispatch for a report of two vehicles parked behind a business. The caller told the officer he believed they were doing drugs behind the business but hadn’t seen anything. The officer located the vehicles and made contact with the first man who was wearing the business’ logo. He told the officer he worked there and was doing his rounds. The other man was a relative to the owner. Everything seemed fine and no suspicious activity was seen by the officer.
April 8
9:32 p.m. Suspicious activity. 15th Street N. A woman called dispatch requesting an officer because individuals were near her front porch digging around with flashlights. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone matching the description. The officer met with the woman who realized after looking at video that she had bought into a fundraiser in which kids would come out and place easter eggs in the person’s yard for them. The officer watched the video with the woman and confirmed the kids were wearing bunny ears and can be seen placing eggs in the yard.
April 9
1:10 a.m. Intoxicated disorderly. Second Street S. A woman called dispatch stating she had been shoved. Officers arrived and spoke to the woman who stated she was shoved by a friend of a friend. The woman told the officers she wanted nothing done but wanted a ride home. The officer spoke to others on scene, and they stated that nothing physical occurred. The woman was given a ride home to prevent further issues from happening.
April 10
5:55 p.m. Found property. Pinecone Central Park. A woman came to the Sartell Police Department to turn in a wallet she had found. The officer took the wallet and was able to locate a phone number for the owner. The officer left a voicemail. The male party called back and was able to identify the wallet and came to pick it up.
