Paul and Juli Arnesen of Sartell, announce the engagement of their son, Chad Han Arnesen (한샘), to Megan Rose Wisbar (박근영), daughter of Gary and Mary Wisbar of Stillwater, Minn.
Wisbar earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. She taught English in South Korea for three years and is currently earning her master’s degree at St. Cloud State University.
Arnesen graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom and is currently employed by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
The wedding is planned for spring/summer 2015 in Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community in Wayzata, Minn.
Four Sartell Sabre dancers have been named to two all-tournament teams.
Hannah Carey and Jenna Klein are members of the Class AA Girls’ High-Kick Dance All-Tournament Team. Sarah Erickson and Avalon Schlecht were named to the Class AA Girls’ Jazz Dance All-Tournament Team.
On Feb. 14-15, the Sartell Sabre Dance Team took second in high-kick and third in jazz at the state tournament in Target Center in the Twin Cities.
The all-team honors were announced by Wells Fargo, which is a prime sponsor of the Minnesota State High School League. The all-team honors recognize student athletes who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship, team commitment, athletic ability and leadership during the state high-school tournaments.
Five Sartell students were recently named to the fall dean’s list at St. John’s University.
They, their parents and majors are as follows: Timothy Immelman, son of Pamela and Aubrey Immelman, first-year, political science and psychology; Isaac Lindstrom, son of Matt Lindstrom, first-year, undeclared; Alexander Baxa, son of Diana and Donald Baxa, senior, biology; Jared Baxa, son of Diana and Donald Baxa, senior, biology; and Alex Hanson, son of Michelle and Ron Hanson, senior, individualized.
Students must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.80 to achieve this honor.

Local student signs with University of Jamestown golf team
“We are excited to add Nolan to the University of Jamestown family,” said Dustin Jensen, U of Jamestown’s head men’s and women’s golf coach. “He has a passion for bettering himself both inside and outside of the classroom. On the golf course, he has only scratched the surface of his potential. We are expecting great things from him as he dons the black and orange!”
Frank is a three-time Minnesota Junior PGA champion and team captain for Sartell High School. He has also been active in basketball and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He plans to major in business administration. He is the son of Sheila and Randy Frank.
“I chose University of Jamestown because I really like the smaller campus and feeling of community where students and staff know and help each other,” Frank said. “Also the four-year graduation guarantee and good business program, which I plan to major in. Finally, I am excited for the opportunity to be a part of the golf team.”
Ian Lo, son of Rachel Schuneman and Yang Lo of Sartell, was recently named to the fall principal’s honor roll at St. John’s University. He is a seventh-grader. Students must attain a minimum 3.0 grade-point average to earn this honor.
John Milam of Sartell, Minnesota, was recently named to the fall dean’s list at Augsburg College. He is studying business and marketing. Students must attain a minimum 3.5 grade-point average to earn this honor.
The Stearns History Museum and Research Center in St. Cloud recently received a $9,069 Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage grant from the Legacy Amendment to digitize part of Myron Hall’s large collection of photo negatives in order to broaden public accessibility. The Minnesota Historical Society, the organization responsible for administering the grants, recently awarded 111 grants and more than $4.2 million for non-profit and educational organizations, government units and tribal organizations to preserve and share the state’s history and cultural heritage. The grants are awarded according to professional standards and criteria.
Ryan Deroeck of Sartell was recently named to the dean’s list at the University of Minnesota, Morris. Students must achieve a minimum grade-point average of 3.66 to qualify.
Kiley Sullivan of Sartell was recently named to the fall dean’s list at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is a business major. Students must achieve a minimum of a 3.75 grade-point average to qualify.
Four Sartell students were recently named to the fall dean’s list at the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks. They are Tayler Dahlman, Ashley Regnier, Katelyn Rykhus and BrandonYurczyk. Students must have a grade-point average in the top 15 percent to earn this honor.
Forty-one Sartell students were recently named to the fall president’s and dean’s lists at St. Cloud Technical and Community College.
