The city of Sartell has been invited to apply for a grant to fund home rehabilitation for low- to moderate-income homeowners.
Meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, for homeowners and owners of rental property.
The meetings will be at the Sartell Community Center, 850 19th St. S. The session for homeowners begins at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting for rental property owners at 7 p.m.
For homeowners, maps of the target area for funding are available at the Sartell City Hall or by contacting Ed Zimny at Central Minnesota Housing Partnership Inc., 320-258-0673.
For rental owners, there is a target area for multi-family rental units, however, single family and duplex rental units are eligible citywide.
The application to the Department of Employment and Economic Development is due Feb. 28.
“The applications for these funds are very competitive. Last year only 26 communities received their request for funding” Zimny said in a press release.
One of the areas that increases a community’s chances of receiving funding is to be able to demonstrate owner interest in using the program. A well-attended meeting will improve Sartell’s chances for a successful application.
