Minnesota House Republican Leader Lisa Demuth has appointed State Rep. Tim O’Driscoll (R-Sartell) as Republican chairman of the Minnesota House Commerce Committee.
“I’m honored to accept the appointment as chair to this committee as I know its subject matter well,” O’Driscoll said. “I look forward to addressing business activity within the State as well as finding some common-sense solutions that will assist Minnesota’s struggling consumers.”
O’Driscoll served last session as the Republican lead on the commerce committee and has been a committee member for many years.
In addition, O’Driscoll was also named Republican chairman of the Legislative Commission on Pensions and Retirement. O’Driscoll has long been one of the legislative leaders on pension reform in Minnesota, as his work has helped improve the sustainability of pensions for police, volunteer firefighters, teachers and public employees.
O’Driscoll was recently elected to his eighth term in the Minnesota House. He represents the cities of Sartell, Holdingford and St. Stephen, most of Sauk Rapids and the townships of Brockway, Holdingford, Le Sauk and St. Wendel.
