Thanks in huge part to the relatively new water plant in Sartell, the city has weathered July’s relentless heat spell well when it comes to water usage.
The highest water-usage in July was a day when 5.7 million gallons of water was pumped, said Brad Borders, director of Sartell Public Works. That was a “manageable” amount, Borders added, mainly because of the southwest water plant, which was built just a few years ago.
Borders shared that information with the Sartell City Council at its July 23 meeting.
