After several months without a full board, the Sartell-St. Stephen School Board now has a complete membership. Monday night, the board unanimously approved two interim members – Chris Gross and Gary Schnellert.
Those two were among six Sartell residents who had filed for the open positions. Interviews of the candidates by the board on June 20-21 determined the two finalists (Gross, Schnellert).
They will fill out the terms of former board members Julie Zupfer Anderson and Patrick Jacobson-Schulte. Zupfer Anderson resigned in March because of what she said were irreconcilable differences and a lack of leadership on the board. Jacobson-Schulte resigned in May because he and his family are moving outside of the Sartell-St. Stephen School District.
Gross, 43, has a background as a financial officer in the health-care field. As a father of two children in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District, Gross is a member of a parent-teacher organization.
Schnellert, 60, teaches educational leadership and coordinates distance programs for the University of North Dakota. His daughter is a graduate of Sartell High School.
