Wanted! Workers to fill jobs in Sartell-St. Stephen School District.
Krista Durrwachter, the school district’s director of human services, told the Sartell Newsleader there is a pressing need for so many part-time employees, especially in the food-service department. Other openings are close to full-time positions.
The jobs available include substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, nursing assistants and helpers in the areas of food service, custodial and clerical. The school district hires its own employees for nursing, food service, custodial and clerical. Substitute teachers and paraprofessionals can be provided to Sartell schools by a company known as Teachers on Call, but there is always a need for more.
For most of the jobs – clerical, for instance – basic training will be provided, such as computer skills.
There are also openings for extracurricular coaching, advising and even crossing guards. Many of the part-time jobs, Durrwachter noted, would be ideal for parents who are at home all day and need something to do and/or could use some extra income.
Durrwachter said the district has jobs to fill every year, but this year there are even more openings. She thinks it could be due to more people quitting or changing jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Other jobs needed are bus drivers, building attendants, boys swimming coach, recess supervisor, TARGET club advisor and more.
