{"id":140503,"date":"2019-01-25T03:55:27","date_gmt":"2019-01-25T09:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/2thenewsleaders.com\/?p=140503"},"modified":"2019-01-24T09:25:14","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T15:25:14","slug":"meetings-for-low-income-housing-rehab-grants-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenewsleaders.com\/meetings-for-low-income-housing-rehab-grants-set\/","title":{"rendered":"Meetings for low-income housing rehab grants set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The city of Sartell has been invited to apply for a grant to fund home rehabilitation for low- to moderate-income homeowners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, for homeowners and owners of rental property.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The meetings will be at the Sartell Community Center, 850 19th St. S. The session for homeowners begins at 6 p.m. followed by a meeting for rental property owners at 7 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For homeowners, maps of the target area for funding are available at the Sartell City Hall or by contacting Ed Zimny at Central Minnesota Housing Partnership Inc., 320-258-0673.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">For rental owners, there is a target area for multi-family rental units, however, single family and duplex rental units are eligible citywide.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The application to the Department of Employment and Economic Development is due Feb. 28.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe applications for these funds are very competitive. Last year only 26 communities received their request for funding\u201d Zimny said in a press release.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">One of the areas that increases a community\u2019s chances of receiving funding is to be able to demonstrate owner interest in using the program.
