Sartell area churches host craft, bake sale
A Craft and Bake Sale, sponsored by Sartell area churches, will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at St. Francis Xavier School, 308 Second St. N., Sartell. The event offers a wild rice soup luncheon, coffee and rolls in addition to numerous baked goods and craft booths.
Farmers’ Market to hold first winter market Nov. 5
The Sartell Farmers’ Market will hold its first winter market of the season from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 inside Sartell Community Center, 850 19th St. S. You will find great items to eat and great gifts. Some of the items you will find include the following: meat, eggs, squash, potatoes, honey, canned goods, cookies, breads and many craft items for your gift giving.
Turn clocks back Sunday, Nov. 6
Daylight saving time, which started in March, ends Sunday, Nov. 6. At 2 a.m. Sunday, or before retiring Saturday night, residents should turn clocks back one hour to reflect the ending of daylight saving time. The twice yearly clock changing ritual may soon be a thing of the past if the 2022 Senate’s Sunshine Protection Act gets a thumbs up from the House and a presidential signature.
Knights to host breakfast Nov. 6
A seminarian breakfast, sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #7057 of St. Joseph, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-noon Sunday, Nov. 6 in Heritage Hall next to the Church of St. Joseph, 12 W. Minnesota St., St. Joseph. This breakfast is designated for the support of a seminarian. The event is an all-you-care-to-eat homemade breakfast of Pep’s pork sausage, St. Joseph Meat Market sausage, Swany White pancakes, hash browns, fruit, scrambled eggs, caramel and cinnamon rolls and beverages. The event organizers now accept credit card payments. Sunday Mass will be at 10 a.m.
Help sort and distribute food
Help people with their food needs at Catholic Charities Emergency Services food shelf. Duties includes sorting and distributing produce and other food items into shopping carts. Must be able to bend, lift and stand and have the ability to work as a team. Must have an understanding and non-judgmental attitude toward low-income persons and people in crisis.
