A fresh look. Increased user-friendliness. More efficiency.
These are just some of what’s expected from planned upgrades to the city’s website. The St. Joseph City Council gave city staff the green light to engage Civicplus to redesign the site.
There are a lot of features the new site will provide that the city currently doesn’t have. St. Joseph City Administrator Judy Weyrens said the first step is designing the program and determining what services will be included on the revamped site.
“We’re going to try to make changes incrementally,” Weyrens said. “We want to have a couple months to build it.”
City council members authorized spending between $16,000 and $18,000 – to be spent over a couple of months – for the redesign of the website. Possible funding sources include the city’s refuse fund.
Some added features being considered are interactive calendars, the capability of allowing the public to request information from the city via the site and even applying for dog licenses online.
Civicplus is the same company that redesigned the City of St. Cloud’s website.
