Community center open house set April 25
An open house to show plans for the St. Joseph Community Center will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25 at the Government Center, 75 Callaway St. E. A short presentation by Architect, HMA-Murray Mack will be at 6 p.m. Display boards will illustrate the concept plans and residents will have an opportunity to comment.
Kennedy info night set Monday, April 24
Kennedy Community School will host an information night Monday, April 24 at the school, 1300 Jade Road, St. Joseph. From 6-7:15 p.m, students entering kindergarten will be able to ride a bus, explore classrooms, meet teachers and learn to use the cafeteria line while getting a healthy snack. Boy Scouts to hold spaghetti dinner
An all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 84 to raise funds for campouts, will be held 5-8 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the American Legion Post 328, 101 W. Minnesota St., St. Joseph.
Taste of St. Cloud set May 1
Taste of St. Cloud, an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Franciscan Community Volunteers, a ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, May 1 at the Territory Golf Course/Coyote Moon Grille in St. Cloud. The event features an array of cuisines from local restaurants as well as live entertainment and a silent auction. Scam protection talk for older adults set April 27
“Older Adults and Scams: Protect Yourself and Your Money,” an interactive session delivered on behalf of the Sartell Police Department, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 27 at the chapel in Country Manor, 520 First St. N.E., Sartell. Protect yourself from fraudsters and scam artists. Consumers 65 years and older control 70 percent of the nation’s wealth, and crooks know it. Con artists scam older Americans out of an estimated $3 billion a year. Donation assistant
Catholic Charities Emergency Services is looking for volunteers to help with collecting donations being dropped off at the back door. Volunteers are needed from 1-5 p.m. Mondays, 8 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and 2:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Catholic Charities is a non-profit organization that advances the charitable and social mission of the Diocese of St. Cloud. St. Cloud Library Summer Lunch Program
This summer, the St. Cloud Library is partnering with the Yes Network to be a lunch site for the USDA’s Summer Food Service Program. Children up to 18 years old will be able to receive a free, hot meal Monday-Friday from mid-June to mid0August. Volunteers are needed to help serve the food, monitor the lunch area and help with cleanup. Lunches will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and volunteers are needed from 11:15 a.m.- 2 p.m. This program will run five days/week for two months. Volunteer one time, one day a week or more. Residents at the Country Manor Campus Care Center have requested to make tie quilts out of fleece. We are looking for a volunteer to come in one time per week for approximately one hour to tie quilt with a small group of residents. This is a flexible volunteer commitment and is a great way to build friendships and assist the residents in completing projects of their choice. Volunteer at WACOSA
WACOSA is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways. Volunteers will assist in projects to enhance the quality of the environment for the benefit of clients such as painting, landscaping, gardens, patio design and care. Volunteers are also needed to assist with vehicle checks and care to insure safe and comfortable transportation for staff members and clients. WACOSA empowers more than 500 adults with disabilities in central Minnesota by helping them to reach their fullest potential, offer business solutions and build community.
