Evelyn B. Zwack, 79

Evelyn Zwack died Sunday, March 17 in Sun City, Ariz. Her funeral was held March 24 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, St. Stephen. The Revs. Cletus Connors and Robert Harren officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Zwack was born March 31, 1932 in Avon Township to Joseph C. and Julia A. (Pierskalla) Traut. She married Jerome Zwack on Oct. 7, 1950 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Evelyn was a “home engineer” and embraced work as the Food Service Director at Camp Knutson in Crosslake and at Camp Courage in Maple Lake. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring and also of the Rocori Senior Advisory Board. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, quilting, cards, gardening and birdwatching. She especially enjoyed making doughnuts with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the luxury of two apartments, one at her son Bob’s home in Cold Spring and at her son Jerry’s home in Arizona during winter months.
“Mom had faith in God as her personal Savior and was a witness to us all.
She was “the best Mom we ever had.”
Survivors include her children, Jerome Jr. “Butch” (Susan) Zwack of Sun City; Paulette (Del) Fox of South Haven, Robert (Rhonda King) Zwack of Cold Spring, Georjean Fischer (Randy) Fabel of Cold Spring, Julie (Steven) Daniels of Rice, Doug (Rhonda) Zwack of Kimball, James (Kelly Green) Zwack and John (Shirley) Zwack, all of Rice; sisters, Alice (Steve) Hlebain of St. Stephen and Mary Ann (Frank) Voigt of Pierz; honorary sister, Betty Wedin; 44 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Zwack was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jan. 11, 2001; sisters, Victoria Rausch and Dorothy Stock; brothers, Walter and Elmer Traut; daughter-in-law, Judy (Pickle) Zwack; and great-grandson, Levi DeYeager.
