April 11
9:01 a.m. Medical. 520 First St. NE. An officer was dispatched to an assisted-living facility for an elderly woman who was not feeling well. The officer arrived and found the woman in her room. The woman was breathing but was unresponsive. The woman was not overly responsive but did respond to questions by squeezing the officer’s hand. Gold Cross Ambulance arrived and transported the woman to St. Cloud Hospital.
April 12
2:22 p.m. Burglary. 12th Avenue S. An officer was dispatched to a residence for a burglary report. The officer met with the complainant who was also the homeowner. The man said he had been on vacation from April 3-11. When he returned home he had found his garage had been broken into. The officer observed signs of forced entry on the garage service door. The officer photographed the damaged door and completed a log of the items that were taken from the residence. The incident is under investigation.
April 13
5:33 p.m. Traffic accident. Sixth Street S. and 19th Avenue S. An officer was dispatched for a two-vehicle collision involving no injuries but was blocking traffic. The officer arrived and found a sport-utility vehicle pulling a boat that had jackknifed in the roundabout. After speaking with both drivers, the officer learned the SUV jackknifed because it was rear-ended by the second vehicle that was unable to stop on the icy road. The boat had partially left the trailer and broke out the back window of the SUV. The second vehicle that had caused the collision had minor damage to its front bumper.
April 14
9:27 p.m. Stall. 600 block of Heritage Drive. An officer observed signs that a vehicle had gone off the roadway and struck a light pole in the 700 block of Heritage Drive. The officer then observed a vehicle off the road in the 600 block of Heritage Drive. The vehicle had damage along the entire passenger side, consistent with sideswiping an object. The officer met with the driver of the vehicle who stated she was unsure if she hit the light pole. The officer observed a weak odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle. The officer ran the driver through field sobriety testing and found no signs indicating the driver was impaired. The officer then took photos of the vehicle and the light pole. The driver provided valid licensing and proof of insurance.
April 15
7:30 p.m. Medical. Pinecone Road S. and Heritage Drive S. Officers were dispatched to the area of Coborn’s Liquor for a report of a man in a truck who was unable to breathe. Officers located the truck in the 1000 block of Heritage Drive. In the front seat, officers located the man alert but unable to speak. Officers administered oxygen and monitored him until Gold Cross paramedics arrived. Officers assisted paramedics and the man was taken to St. Cloud Hospital.
April 16
12:31 a.m. Domestic. 11th Avenue E. Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a man and woman yelling at each other. The caller was unsure if the dispute was physical at any point. Officers arrived and separately interviewed both parties. Officers arrested the man and he could be charged with domestic assault. The man was taken to Benton County Jail.
April 17
4:05 p.m. Vehicle collision. 12th Street N. and Pinecone Road N. Officers were dispatched for a vehicle collision. Officers arrived and met with all parties. No one stated they were injured. Driver of vehicle one was traveling north on Pinecone Road when a vehicle in front of him stopped abruptly for pedestrians in a cross walk. The driver of vehicle 1 was unable to completely slow his vehicle, lightly striking the vehicle in front of him. Driver of vehicle 2 stated she was traveling directly behind vehicle 1. She stated she was also unable to stop her vehicle , striking vehicle 1 in the driver’s side rear quarter panel. Vehicle two had disabling damage.
