Three St. Joseph students received scholarships from Catholic United Financial. They are Ciera Ehlert, Emily Lygre and Taylor Nordine.


Keith Warzecka of St. Joseph was named to the spring semester dean’s honor list at Concordia College, Moorhead. To qualify, a student must earn a 3.7 minimum grade-point average.

Samantha Smoley of St. Joseph, who is majoring in theater arts and film production, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Minnesota State, Moorhead. To qualify, a student must earn a minimum 3.25 grade-point average. 


Brandon Funk of St. Joseph is one of two Apollo High School trapshooting team members who will compete in the USA High School Clay Target League’s National Championships in July in Mason, Mich. Megan Gohman is the other Apollo student. Funk and Gohman led the team this season with 21.20 and 21.10 averages respectively. Both will compete at the National Championships on the team and as individuals.  The team consists of five team members and two alternates. The team completed its second Minnesota High School Clay Target League season placing second in Class 1A-Conference 9. 


Katelyn Sinn of St. Joseph, who is majoring in software engineering, was named to the spring dean’s list at Iowa State University, Ames. To qualify for this honor, a student must earn a 3.5 minimum grade-point average.


Nathan Dehne was recently selected as new vice president for admission and financial aid at the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University. He will begin his new role on July 9.

Dehne currently serves as the vice president for admissions and enrollment services at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis., where he also provided executive leadership for strategic planning and athletics.

Dehne succeeds Calvin Mosley, who announced his retirement earlier this year, after serving 10 years as vice president.


Amanda Theisen of St. Joseph recently graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. Theisen was also named to the spring dean’s list for earning a minimum 3.7 grade-point average.


Fifteen St. Joseph students earned academic honors during spring semester at St. Cloud Technical & Community College.

To qualify for the president’s list a student needs a 4.0 grade-point average and to qualify for the dean’s list, a student needs a minimum 3.5 grade-point average.

President’s list: Sommer Davidson, Mitchell Jaeckels, Alexander Legatt, Bruce Walkley, Elena Drake, Kelsey Mosley and Ethan Carlson.

Dean’s list: Luke Dahlgren, Madalyn Fowler, Mikayla Kotsmith, Tianna Swanson-Wente, Jasmine Elliott, Mitchell Lowell, Logan Douvier and Amanda Meehl.


Sixteen St. Joseph students have been named to the spring dean’s list at St. Cloud State University.  To be eligible, students must earn a 3.7 minimum grade-point average.

The students are Anna Emerson, Lindsay Helfenstein, Lynnsey Hoffmann, Isaac Holthaus, Tyler Lahr, JoAnn Otte, Haley Walker, Taesig Ahn, Alison Fischer, Bryce Kirchner, Logan Korte, Kaylee Lodermeier, Natalie Moen, William Morgan, Ryan Peterson and MaKalla Schmitz.

In recognition of their outstanding service to community, Kathryn Bjorke (second from right) and Martha Bunde (second from left) were presented with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. The awards, presented by Internal Coach Michelle McAnally (far left) and Program Manager Mishon Bulson (far right) honor those who, by demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service. Bjorke has served full time as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps at Kennedy Community School in St. Joseph since 2015. Bunde has served part time at Kennedy since 2014.
