After reading your column today I just want to say thanks, Janelle, for the heartfelt editorial regarding (Police Chief) Joel (Klein). I have always had nothing but great interaction with him and nothing but respect for him. Your connecting his words and his fate are sadly so true. We will probably never know but in my heart I believe like you it was just easier to resign than prolong a fight for a reputation already damaged by allegations. From my interactions, I find most people I have talked with feel much the same. Thanks for putting good words out there. Almost makes the ending not feel so bad as I still believe he’s one of the good guys.
