Kyle Christensen, Sartell’s chief building official, has announced he intends to resign his position because he has accepted a new job.
Christensen has been chief building official for Sartell for the past 10 years. He worked with the building application process, as well as doing building inspections to ensure all buildings were compliant with city and state code requirements.
Sartell City Planner/Developer Anita Archambeau said Christensen accepted a job with the State of Minnesota. He plans to leave his Sartell job by mid-September.
The city council has authorized a hiring process to fill the job vacancy. At a meeting set for Sept. 19, an interim building official or officials may be appointed until a full-time replacement is found.
The job requires someone with an expertise in the administrative and technical aspects of building projects, including mechanical, plumbing, zoning and general code administration and enforcement.
In his 10 years with Sartell, Christensen has inspected thousands upon thousands of buildings.
