Once again, shoppers will have a chance to find some “Christmas treasures” while helping fund restoration of the Church of St. Joseph Catholic Church organ at the third annual Joetown Christmas Treasures sale.
The sale will take place from 12:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1; 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2; 8:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3; and 8:30 a.m.-noon Sunday, Nov. 4 in the church’s Heritage Hall Parish Center.
Organizer Marjorie Henkemeyer said a storage shed is currently filled with treasures of many shapes and sizes that church members have donated for the sale.
Shoppers will be able to find a large selection of slightly-used Christmas treasures of all kinds, including small and large Christmas trees, indoor and outdoor decorations, linens and handcrafted wooden decorations.
“Thanks to the generosity of many, we can provide a shopping adventure,” Henkemeyer said.
Customers will also be able to take a break from shopping to enjoy some dessert and coffee at the event.
The proceeds of the sale will be used to help pay for cleaning, electrical repair and tonal enhancements of the church’s pipe organ.
Henkemeyer said last year’s sale raised $7,000 and both year’s sales have raised a total of $12,000.
The sale is under the direction of the Church of St. Joseph Willing Hands group.
The church organ was installed in 1973 by pipe organ consultant Arthur Kurtzman Jr. and assistant K.C. Marrin.
