The Sartell High School swim and dive team finished in first place, set four new section and three new pool records at the Section 6A meet on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Sartell High School.
The state meet is Nov. 14-16 at the University of Minnesota.
The Sabres qualified 17 swimmers for the state meet with at least one entry per event. The 200 medley relay team of Maddie Hedlund, Darah Coleman, Heidi Lenarz and Liberty Johnson set a new section record and pool record with a time of 1:49.35.
Darah Coleman set a new section record (breaking her own record from prelims) in the 100 fly with a 58.03 and won the 100 breast, setting a new section and pool record in prelims. As a result, Coleman was selected as the Section Swimmer of the Meet.
The 400 free relay team of Lauryn Kramer, Heidi Lenarz, Maddie Hedlund and Kristin Martens set a new section and pool record with a time of 3:36.26.
Sophomore Heidi Lenarz was the only swimmer in the meet to win the maximum of four events (200 medley relay, 200 IM, 500 free, 400 free relay).
Additional Sartell section champions were the 200 free relay (Liberty Johnson, Kristin Martens, Lauren Lindmeier, Lauryn Kramer), and Maddie Hedlund in the 100 back. State qualifiers are:
