Two girls were injured April 24 in a collision on Island Lake Road and CR 160 in Collegeville Township, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.
Amy Dukowitz, 17, of Cold Spring was driving south on Island Lake Road when her car was struck on the passenger side by a sport utility vehicle driven by Emma Zimmer, 16, of St. Joseph, according to the sheriff’s office. There are stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic on Island Lake Road.
Dukowitz was unable to get out of the car because of her injuries. She was assisted by Cold Spring Fire and Rescue. She was transported to St. Cloud Hospital for injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Zimmer left the scene with family and later went to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
