More than three dozen people knelt along Pinecone Road for 8 minutes and 46 seconds on June 4 to honor George Floyd, the Minneapolis plan who was killed in police custody.

The event started on Facebook and organizers decided that instead of kneeling in their yards, they would move the demonstration to a more public place.

“It’s very important that we all understand what’s going on and that we can get together and support the life of George Floyd,” Midge Nyblom, one of the organizers said.

While the group knelt quietly, some passing motorists honked or waved.

As the minutes ticked away, Nyblom said “I kept thinking to myself George, George, George … and there was no one kneeling on my neck.”
