Tuesday, April 27
2:49 p.m. Burning. Brookwood Lane. An anonymous complaint came into the police department about a resident burning yard waste. An officer stopped by the home and spoke to the residents about how a Sartell City Ordinance does not allow burning of leaves or any other yard debris. The officer asked the resident to stop burning debris from cutting down trees.
Wednesday, April 28
12:50 p.m. Warrant arrest. County Road 120. Dispatch received a call stating that a male with felony warrants was shopping at a store. As officers were responding, the caller informed dispatch the male had left the store, and the caller gave vehicle information and direction of travel. Officers were able to catch up to the vehicle in a nearby city in a gas station parking lot. When officers tried identifying the male, he gave a false name to officers, but they were able to identify him by looking up previous booking photos. When the officer told the male he was under arrest, the male took off running. After a short foot pursuit, the male was taken into custody. Dispatch was able to confirm the individual had four warrants out of Benton, Mille Lacs, Sherburne and Wright counties. The arresting officer also cited the male for false information and fleeing on foot. The male was transported to the Benton County Jail.
Thursday, April 29
1:40 p.m. Assist agency. River Oaks Lane. Officers were dispatched to assist the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office with an attempt to apprehend a suspect on a warrant, which was for failure to appear for sentencing. It was determined the male was not currently at the home.
Friday, April 30
8:26 p.m. Dog bite. Seventh Avenue S. An officer was dispatched for a dog bite. When the officer spoke to the complainant, she explained her dog had been attacked by another dog. The complainant stated she, her dog and her mother were out for a walk, and the attacking dog came out of nowhere and attacked her dog from behind. Her dog required 18 stitches and 10 staples. The complainant only wanted this documented as she had already spoke to the owner of the other dog. The officer still needed to do follow up and spoke to the other dog owner. The dog is currently on a 10-day home quarantine, and the owner will do a follow-up appointment with the vet after that.
Saturday, May 1
1:02 a.m. Suspicious activity. Corrine Creek. An officer was requested because the caller could see people with flashlights by the creek. The caller was unsure if the people were trying to spear fish. As the officer arrived in the area, they were able to use equipment to help see in the dark and see two people near the creek. As the officer got out to try and speak to them, they took off. The officer responded to the home of where the people were nearby. A parent confirmed their child and a friend were out spearing. The officer and parent discussed the city ordinance.
Sunday, May 2
12:53 a.m. Verbal. First Street S. Officers were requested to respond to a verbal argument between a male and a female. When dispatch asked if anything had been physical both parties responded no. The male was trying to leave for the night, and the female was refusing to let him leave. Officers were able to allow the male to gather his belongings and leave.
Monday, May 3
12:50 p.m. Grass fire. C.R. 120. Officers and the fire department were paged out for a small grass fire. The complainant tried using a fire extinguisher, but the mulch was on fire and the extinguisher wasn’t big enough to put it out. The fire was put out by the fire department.
