One of the long-time popular fun festivals in Sartell – Sartell SummerFest – will be scaled back this June with a new name, “Slightly Summerfest.”

Last summer’s festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year’s festival planning was hampered for the same reason.

Events will take place Wednesday-Sunday, June 9-13. Activities will include a citywide garage sale, Diaper Dash, mini golf and events and deals at local businesses. Liberty Bank, which has long been a major sponsor for SummerFest, will offer giveaways at the Diaper Dash and Mini Golf events, for example.

Other fun events will be added as the “Slightly SummerFest” dates approach and will be announced via www.sartellsummerfest.com, on social media and on flyers to be sent to Sartell residents.

There is still time for potential sponsors to become involved in such ways as featuring live music on business patios, offering SummerFest “specials,” or coordinating games such as dodgeball tournaments. Any business that would like to host a small event should email the organizers and request more information at sartellsummerfest@hotmail.com

The following is a line-up of events that are scheduled at this point:

June 9-12: citywide garage sale in Sartell neighborhoods, the Sartell Community Center and in the parking lot of the BlueLine Sports Bar and Grill.

June 11: Diaper Dash will start at 6 p.m. at the Scheels Athletic Complex. This madcap 5k run/walk/bike/rollerblade “dash” will have some participants wearing diapers. All the proceeds and donated diapers will go to Anna Marie’s domestic violence shelter in St. Cloud.

June 12: Mini golf from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Sartell Community Center. A mini-golf course will be set up in the back of the community center near Lake Francis. Walk-up reservations only.

An activity or two for Sunday, June 13 will be announced in the near future.
