July 26
11:03 a.m. Driving complaint. Victory Avenue. An officer was dispatched to check on a vehicle that parks in the same place for a few minutes and then leaves. The caller told the officer that this has been happening for four to six weeks and she was concerned because of her daycare business. The officer made contact with the driver of the truck; the driver told the officer that he plays Pokémon Go. The driver stated he’s only there for a minute and then leaves for work. The officer called the complainant back and informed her of what was going on.
July 27
12:46 a.m. Suspicious activity. Fifth Avenue N. Dispatch asked an officer to respond to the area for suspicious activity. The complainant told dispatch they could hear someone yelling “no, no, no” in the cemetery. A short time later the complainant told dispatch they no longer could hear the yelling and could not see anyone. Several officers searched the area using their NOPTICS camera, a mounted thermal imaging camera. Officers were unable to locate anything suspicious.
July 28
3:21 p.m. Open door. Fifth Street NE. The complainant asked dispatch to have an officer check a neighbor’s home. The complainant told dispatch she could see a door standing open and that the home recently had been sold but they had not seen anyone move in yet. The officer checked the area and the home. The officer found the opened door was a small entryway. There was a secondary door going into the home that was locked. The officer knocked and no one answered but there was a dog barking, and the air conditioning was running.
July 29
9:33 p.m. Noise. Grizzly Lane. An officer was dispatched to a noise complaint of kids playing basketball loudly after the park had closed for the night. The officer checked the area and did not locate anyone in the park playing basketball.
July 30
8:50 p.m. Verbal. CR 120. An officer was dispatched to a driving complaint turned into a verbal. The officer was informed by dispatch the suspect had almost hit the complainant and her husband in the parking lot. Comments were made and it turned into a verbal argument. The complainant told the officer when they got to their vehicle, the suspect vehicle started following them around the parking lot. When the officer arrived on scene the suspect was no longer following the complainant and they wanted nothing done at this point.
July 31
11:41 p.m. Suspicious activity. Central Park Blvd. While an officer was on routine patrol, he noticed a parked vehicle in a park after normal park hours. The officer made contact with the two occupants, and they stated they were just hanging out. The officer informed them of park hours, and they agreed to leave.
Aug. 1
10:34 a.m. Warrant. Brookwood Lane. An officer was dispatched to assist a probation officer who was out with an individual with a warrant for violating conditions of release. When the officer arrived, they took the individual into custody. The individual was brought to the Stearns County Jail without issue.
Aug. 2
11:11 p.m. Property damage. CR 120. A complainant called dispatch stating someone had shot at his vehicle. A Stearns County Deputy arrived first on scene and was able to confirm no one was injured. As Sartell officers arrived on scene, it was found the two occupants of the vehicle heard two pop-like sounds and then the back driver’s side window shattered. Witnesses told the officers they heard people laughing in the parking lot right as this had happened. While the officers were on scene 2 BBs were located. The officers reviewed video of the incident and can see the suspect vehicle is a white car, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu or Cruze. This incident is still being looked into further.
Aug. 3
2:45 p.m. Business assist. CR 120. A Sartell officer was notified two individuals were seen at a business; the two individuals had recently been investigated for thefts in the area. The officer contacted asset protection and the associate confirmed the store would like the two individuals removed from the property. The officer was able to make contact and escorted the two individuals to the asset protection office; the store associate was able to complete the proper paperwork.
Aug. 4
9:25 a.m. Theft from vehicle. 15 Street S. An officer was dispatched to an address for a license plate that had been stolen off the front of a vehicle. The owner did not know when or where it had been taken. The owner removed the back plate and was heading to the DMV. The officer had the owner fill out the stolen property form and had dispatch enter the plate as stolen.
Aug. 5
12:11 p.m. Spill. CR 120. A Sartell Officer was dispatched to assist the Sartell Fire Department in a fuel spill in a parking lot. An individual had just filled up with fuel and drove the car to this location when it started to leak. The Sartell Fire Department assisted the business with containing and cleaning up the spill. The officer gathered driver and owner information.
Aug. 6
7:13 p.m. Lost property. Trentwood Drive. An officer was advised by dispatch that a resident had called in to report his handgun was lost. The complainant stated he had his handgun last Saturday and thought he had put it away but has not since been able to find it. The complainant had checked with all other residents at the home and wanted to report it as lost. The complainant called back into dispatch before the officer had arrived on scene stating that the gun had been found.
Aug. 7
7:56 p.m. Dog. Fourth Avenue N. Dispatch received a call about barking dogs inside a fenced backyard for the last two hours. The officer was able to locate the barking dogs and contacted the property owner. The owner informed the officer they were out to eat and would get home and deal with it whenever they felt fit. The officer encouraged the owner to resolve the issue sooner as there currently was an ordinance violation occurring. The owner advised he would return home and take care of the issue.
Aug. 8
11:11 p.m. Assist person. Roberts Road. An officer was dispatched to an assist-person call for a complaint of people disturbing the peace. Dispatch informed the officer the complainant stated the pool closed at 10 p.m., but there was still a group of people at the pool being loud. The complainant tried calling management but did not receive a call back. Dispatch also suggested calling the on-call maintenance number to get through to someone, but the caller insisted they speak to an officer. The officer tried calling the complainant, but no one answered, so they left a voicemail. The officer arrived on scene since the complainant stated they were disturbing the peace. The officer found the pool area empty but did notice a rock propping open the gate. The officer removed the rock and secured the gate.
Aug. 9
11:54 p.m. Assist agency. Benton Drive N. Dispatch requested two Sartell officers to assist Sauk Rapids Police Department on an assault call. Sauk Rapids was currently tied up on other calls and Sartell responded to the assault. Officers were informed a female had assaulted someone at the bar, and they wanted her removed. When officers arrived, they located the female outside and had her sit down. Officers were talking to her when Sauk Rapids officers arrived. The female was removed from the property, and Sartell officers were cleared.
