SJU graduate, four-star general to speak Oct. 20 at McCarthy Center
The Eugene J. McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement invites the public to the 16th annual Eugene J. McCarthy Lecture featuring Gen. Paul Nakasone at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the Stephen B. Humphrey Theater at St. John’s University. The SJU graduate and four-star general is the director of the U.S. National Security Agency and commander of U.S. Cyber Command. Nakasone will discuss the evolving cyber challenges posed by the 2022 midterm elections and more broadly. Registration information can be found at csbsju.edu/mccarthy-center.

The St. Cloud area League of Women Voters will sponsor several candidate forums in October which affect Sartell residents. The Sartell City Council candidate forum will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3 at the Sartell Community Center, 850 19th St. S., Sartell. The St. Cloud school board candidate forum will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the St. Cloud School District Administration Office, 1201 Second St. S., Waite Park. Veterans brunch set Oct. 22; RSVP by Oct. 17
A Veterans Day Brunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct 22. It’s free for a veteran and a guest. Join the Sartell Senior Connection and the Sartell Historical Society as they honor our veterans with their annual brunch. Knights host Oct. 2 breakfast
A monthly breakfast. sponsored by the Knight of Columbus Council #7057 will be served from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Church of St. Joseph Heritage Hall. Take the family out for a great homemade breakfast that includes Pep’s pork and St. Joseph Meat Market sausage, pancakes, hash browns, fruit, scrambled eggs, caramel rolls and cinnamon rolls.
