Dan Mondloch of St. Joseph was recently awarded $2,000 by the Central Minnesota Arts Board for a four-day residency focused on watercolor techniques and landscape painting with grades Pre-k through 5th grade at St. Joseph Catholic School in St. Joseph.
Six local teachers were recently honored during the Leaders in Educational Excellence Awards, sponsored by Resource Training & Solutions. The Kennedy Community School recipients were Kelly Haeg and Kelli Mauer. The Apollo High School recipients were Megan Banks, Jessica Glieden, Colleen Marquardt and Christy Wehlage.
The Central Minnesota Arts Board recently awarded $70,386 in organizational development grants. Some of the awarded organizations were the following: Great River Educational Arts Theatre ($10,000), Lyricality ($10,000), Paramount Center for the Arts ($10,000), SOAR Regional Arts ($10,000), St. Cloud Municipal Band ($4,790) and Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota ($10,000).
