Residents are encouraged to donate gifts (unwrapped, please) and monetary donations as soon as possible – at least by Monday, Dec. 12 because the three distribution dates for the gifts begins Dec. 13.
Toys and other items, including gift cards, can be dropped off in nearly 50 drop-off boxes at businesses throughout central Minnesota. People can also donate monetarily on their website.
In addition, Catholic Charities is accepting donations from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12. Catholic Charities is located at 157 Roosevelt Road (Door D in back of building) in St. Cloud. Donations should not be left outside that door.
Gifts are distributed to children ages 6 months to 14 years who have registered with Catholic Charities Emergency Services. Toys for Tots is available for children who live in St. Joseph, among other area cities.

Give the gift of time as a Red Cross volunteer
The holiday season is a time for festivities and family. It’s also a time for giving. This year, you can give a meaningful gift that helps people through some of life’s toughest moments. From helping people impacted by disasters, like home fires and floods, to supporting lifesaving blood donations, you can make a difference. The need for volunteers remains critical and constant during the holiday season. Consider giving the gift of time with one of the urgently needed volunteer opportunities with the Red Cross.
Disaster Action Team members are needed. Every 8 minutes the Red Cross responds to a disaster and it’s the compassionate volunteers, who make their mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering possible. When you become a volunteer, you’re helping to turn tragedy into hope. Blood Donor Ambassadors is another great volunteer opportunity with Red Cross. Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. The need for blood is constant and so is the need for volunteers at Blood Drives to help save lives. If interested visit www.redcross.org/givetime to learn more.
