Feb. 21
12:07 p.m. Suspicious activity. Amber Avenue S. An officer was requested by a resident because they found footprints on their balcony that did not belong to them. The caller said the prints did not match her or her boyfriend’s shoes. The caller spoke to management and was informed the tenants above her had been evicted and they wondered if they had shimmied up the balcony to gain access. The officer spoke to management and was informed they thought it would be almost impossible to scale the balcony, plus the other renters had been out for weeks. The officer got photos of the footprints. Nothing further unless more information is found.
 Feb. 22
7:21 a.m. Shoplifter. CR 120. An officer received eight shoplifting complaints of the same man from a business for under ringing merchandise. The thefts occurred between Jan. 10 through Feb. 10, and total loss to the store was $396.11. The store employee was able to run a transaction history on the credit card used each time, to determine how much merchandise was under rang. The officer was able to identify the man in the store surveillance video with a Minnesota driver’s license photo. The officer issued the man a misdemeanor theft citation.

Feb. 23
6:11 p.m. Driving complaint. CR 1. Officers were dispatched to a driving complaint east bound on CR 1 from Hwy 15. Caller reported a vehicle was driving 40 mph under the speed limit and swerving. The caller thought the driver may be impaired. There was a five-minute time delay on the call being sent to the officer. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. Information was passed onto St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids police departments.

Feb. 24
10:08 p.m. Trespass. CR 120. An officer was requested to respond to a complaint of a man in a store that had been trespassed. The caller told the officer the man had been trespassed less than a year ago. The officer arrived and found the man in the store and escorted him to the loss prevention office. The man was provided with a copy of the trespass notice and apologized and agreed to leave. Per the employee’s request, the officer issued a misdemeanor trespass citation.

Feb. 25
4:43 p.m. Snowmobile. 19th Avenue N. Dispatch requested an officer respond to a snowmobile complaint. The officer was told snowmobiles were driving on 19th Avenue N and Fourth Street N sidewalk. The officer was told this is an ongoing issue. The officer spoke to the homeowner where the snowmobiles were now parked, and the homeowner didn’t know they couldn’t use the sidewalk to access trails. The homeowner said he would let the group know that city ordinance does not allow this.

Feb. 26
9:32 p.m. Loud music. Fifth Avenue S. An officer was dispatched for a loud-music complaint. The officer arrived on scene and could hear music coming from the home from the squad car. The officer spoke to the caller who said the music was turned down within the last few minutes but still could hear it. The officer made contact with the residents at the door who thought they didn’t have to turn it down until 10 p.m. The officer advised the three individuals that it was now past 10 p.m. They told the officer they would turn the music down, which they did. The officer confirmed the music was turned down prior to leaving the area.

Feb. 27
2:43 a.m. Assist agency. Sixth Street S. Dispatch was called by a man who had tried assisting two vehicles that were stuck and he was unable to get them out. The caller stated they may be intoxicated due to them being in such a hurry to get out of there. The officer arrived and saw the drivers trying to shovel themselves out. Drivers were not intoxicated, they were stuck and trying to shovel themselves out. They didn’t have the money to call for a tow.
