9:02 a.m. Foot patrol. 850 19th Street S. An officer conducted foot patrol at the Community Center because staff requested extra patrol for that evening, if possible, for the open basketball hours.
March 22
9:29 p.m. Assist agency. CR 133. An officer was requested by a Stearns County deputy to assist with stopping a vehicle. The deputy told the officer he had clocked the vehicle going around 120 mph. The deputy said he now believed the vehicle was trying to flee and was not stopping. The Sartell officer responded and assisted with a felony traffic stop. The driver was cooperative and was removed from the vehicle and secured in handcuffs by the deputy. Once the vehicle was checked and the driver was identified he was released with a citation.
March 23
5:21 p.m. Found property. Seventh Street N. An officer was called to a business for a found purse located near the exit door at the store. The officer arrived and located a Minnesota ID inside the purse. The owner lived in Sartell so the officer returned it to her at her home.
March 24
11:59 a.m. Motorist assist. 20th Avenue N. A man came into the Public Safety Facility lobby asking about vehicle unlocks. The man told the front desk he and his wife were house sitting for their son and his wife had locked her keys in the vehicle at the house. An officer responded to the address and was able to assist with unlocking the vehicle without issue.
March 25
5:54 p.m. Unwanted. CR 120. Officers were dispatched to an unwanted woman at a business. Dispatch told the officer the woman was verbal with staff after they refused a return. The business wanted the woman talked to and trespassed from the store. The officer saw the vehicle the woman left in and conducted a traffic stop. The officer spoke to the woman, and she admitted to being upset that she couldn’t return a cell phone. She admitted to cursing at staff. The officer advised her she was trespassed from the business for one year and could not return.
March 26
12:33 p.m. Traffic stop. Highway 15. While an officer was on routine patrol, they noticed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer activated the front stationary radar and received a reading of 104 mph with a good tone and no interferences. The vehicle decelerated rapidly upon seeing the squad car. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the male driver said he believed he was traveling around 90 mph. The officer issued a citation for speeding and reckless driving. The citation was explained, and the driver was allowed to go on his way.
March 27
2:20 a.m. Suspicious person. Grizzly Lane. An officer was dispatched for a paper delivery person seeing a man walk out into the street, flash a flashlight then walk off. The officer checked the area and was unable to locate a man. A deputy was also in the area checking for the suspicious man when he came across three minor women with flashlights. The girls told the officer they snuck out to take pictures. The officer transported them back to the residence they were staying at for the evening and turned them over to the father.
