Feb. 6
2:26 p.m. Disorderly conduct. Third Avenue N. Officers were called to the area for an 18-year-old being assaultive to staff at a group home. Officers arrived and saw three staff members attempting to calm the teenager. Officers tried to speak with the individual who started to spit repeatedly. Officers were eventually able to calm the teenager and he was released back to the care of the staff and taken home.

Feb. 7
2:55 p.m. Theft. 100 CR 120. Officers responded to a theft from a vehicle complaint at Sauk River Regional Park. The victim stated they went to walk their dog and when they returned the front passenger window had been broken and her purse taken. The suspects then went to Walmart and used the victim’s cards to make several purchases. The victim stated along with her purse, multiple other items were taken from her vehicle. Officers are working with Walmart staff to help identify the suspect(s) who used the victims’ credit cards.

Feb. 8
12:29 a.m. Disorderly conduct. Third Street S. Officers were dispatched to a report of people shouting and loud popping noises coming from the parking lot. Officers arrived and spoke to a man and woman walking in the parking lot. The man was bleeding below his left eye and had cuts on his hand. They told officers a fight had broken out between him and his sister’s boyfriend before officers arrived. Officers called the other party who confirmed the story of a fight between the two men. Both men were issued citations for disorderly conduct.

Feb. 9
11:29 a.m. Fraud. 12th Avenue S. Officers spoke with the victim who stated they found nudity on their Facebook account. When they called to report it to Facebook, they asked the victim to transfer money to a crypto account for security purposes. The victim was transferred to who they thought was Bremer Bank but was suspicious. The victim stated they had their address and the last four of their social security number, but only gave out the last two digits of their checking account. Officers advised the victim about giving information to unknown parties and how to verify if the agencies were legitimate. The victim was also instructed on how to better secure credit card and social security information.

Feb. 10
10:35 a.m. Suspicious activity. Fifth Street N. Officers were advised to call Sartell school’s athletic director who reported posters of the high school dance team along the school fence were stolen and vandalized sometime overnight. Parents were on scene cleaning the mess and pictures were taken. The case was forwarded to the school resource officer for further investigation.

Feb. 11
9:22 p.m. Traffic stop. CR 1/CR 120. Officers were on patrol at the roundabout intersection when they observed a vehicle driving with no headlights or taillights. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, who provided the officer with an instruction permit card. The driver stated they were just leaving work. The driver was issued a citation for an instructional-permit violation. The driver was allowed to wait in a nearby parking lot until a valid driver arrived.

Feb. 12
10:34 a.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle driving above the posted 30-mph zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and advised the driver they were going 48 mph in a 30-mph zone. The driver was issued a citation for speeding.
