A Stearns County deputy was involved in a single-vehicle crash while responding to a 911 hang-up call and possible domestic.
On 6:14 p.m. June 16, Deputy Allan Sana was driving a marked Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Squad S-31, responding to an emergency call, a 911 hang up call and possible domestic, with lights and siren on.
Deputy Sana was turning left to travel east on CR 44 from Hwy. 55 in Kimball, when he lost control of the squad and struck a power pole head on.
The pole snapped off, downing the power lines, and cutting power to locations in the area.
Kimball Fire responded to the crash and assisted in assessing the deputy and blocking off the roadway.
Deputy Sana was treated at the scene by Watkins Ambulance and released. The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
