Crime Stoppers offers rewards up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a crime.

Dec. 11
4:46 p.m. Finance. Willow Lane. Officers took a report of a scam. The caller stated one of their phones gave them alerts the phone was compromised and to call a number. When the victim called the number they were told to get two Walmart gift cards worth $200 each and to give the codes on the back. That’s when the victim realized it was a scam. Officers called Walmart who stated the cards had already been used. The victim is out $400.

Dec. 13
4:02 a.m. Intoxicated person. Le Sauk Drive. Officers were dispatched for a report of an intoxicated man. Staff expressed their concerns for the man, due to his level of intoxication and how he kept falling asleep. Officers arrived and spoke to the man and could smell alcohol on his breath. Officers learned the man had a felony warrant for property damage out of St. Louis County. The man was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for evaluation, before being taken to the Stearns County Jail for the warrant.

Dec. 14
3:40 p.m. Crash. Brianna Drive. Officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run incident. The caller stated a vehicle had hit a stop sign and left the scene. The caller was able to provide police with the license plate of the vehicle. Officers were able to find an address for the driver of the vehicle and attempted to make contact. The driver of the vehicle came to the door and admitted to hitting the sign. When officers asked why they did not report the crash right away, the driver stated they had two shots of alcohol after coming home and knew how that would look. The driver was issued a citation for failing to notify police of a crash.

Dec. 16
9:10 p.m. Traffic stop. Riverside Avenue. Officers were on routine patrol when they located a vehicle with an exhaust pipe dragging on the ground and a cracked windshield obstructing the driver’s view. Officers made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. When asked for proof of insurance the driver stated they did not have any form of proof on them. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and given a warning on equipment violations.

Dec. 19
7:38 p.m. Juvenile problem. Officers responded to a juvenile problem who was out of control and hitting their mother. Officers arrived and spoke with the family who stated the child was talking about self-harm and was just starting new medications tonight. Due to the child having thoughts of self-harm, the child was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for an evaluation.

Dec. 21
4:19 a.m. Slumper. Second Street S. Officers located a vehicle parked in front of a store with a man asleep inside. Officers woke the man who stated he was on his way home after spending several hours in the ER and pulled into the parking lot to rest. Officers observed no signs of impairment and cleared.

Dec. 23
6:49 p.m. Driving complaint. Heritage Drive. Officers responded to a driving complaint in the area. The caller stated the vehicle was traveling slow and believed the driver may be intoxicated. Officers drove the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. No further action was taken and the officer cleared.
