Dr. Brian Bruess has released a reaction to having been appointed by Gov. Tim Walz to serve on the Minnesota Workforce Development Board.
Bruess is president of both the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University.
“I am deeply honored to be appointed by Gov. Tim Walz to the Minnesota Workforce Development Board, serving through July 2028,” Bruess posted on the CSB/SJU website. “This board plays a vital role in ensuring Minnesota’s educational institutions (secondary, postsecondary, and career and technical programs) – are preparing students and workers for the rapidly evolving demands of today’s economy.
“At (CSB/SJU), we see how education transforms lives and strengthens communities. This appointment aligns with our commitment to equipping students with the skills, adaptability and ethical leadership needed to thrive in an ever-changing workforce and world.
“I look forward to working alongside an outstanding group of leaders to help Minnesota meet the challenges and opportunities ahead. A heartfelt thank you to Paul Pribbenow for his service in this role — I am grateful to follow in his footsteps.”
Pribbenow, the president of Augsburg College, served on the Development Board before Bruess’ appointment.
