The long-awaited $16-million “West Side Reconstruction” project for Sartell approved by the city council in spring of 2024 got underway in late March.
The project includes 13 streets in west Sartell and involves street reconstruction complete with curb-and-gutter, sanitary sewer, water and stormwater connections.
Plans for the project began for West Side Reconstruction in a public-input session in August 2023. After a preliminary-assessment public hearing in April 2024, a final design was approved in that same month. The work will be done in four stages, and the entire project is expected to be completed early in the summer of 2026.
April Ryan, the Sartell engineer, is the project manager. The $16-million cost will be paid for by city bonding for street, water, storm water and sewer funding. About one-seventh of the cost will be from property assessments in that area.
