Metro Bus held its 36th annual Local Bus Roadeo June 6 at the St. Cloud State University K-Lot. The Fixed Route (large buses) category top finishers were: Jason Hiivala, Carl Hallberg and Mike Stommes. The Dial-a-Ride (small buses) category top finishers were: Keith Drake, David Peacock and Wayne Prescott. The top finishers from each division will compete in the Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo to be held July 18-19 at Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range, Virginia, MN.

To qualify, a student must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.5.

Tara Skinner of St. Stephen recently earned her associate’s degree and received a diploma of occupational proficiency, both with high honors, from Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples.
Seven Sartell students recently graduated from Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples. They are the following: Katie Fillbrandt (honors), Samantha Herdina (honors), Ruweyda Hussein (honors), Nicholai Joul, Emily Lyseng (high honors), Carl Vonkepler Levelwind (honors) and Rose Welle (honors). High honors students earned a 3.75-4.0 grade-point average. Honors students earned 3.25-3.74 grade-point average.
