A mother-daughter team, Lisa and Aquiliana Wolf of St. Joseph, will again bring their “Art in the Park” summer program to the parks in St. Joseph, and all children are welcome to participate in the free creative events.
The program is a fun, free and creative activity for children ages 3 up through elementary-school ages. Art supplies will be provided, including coloring books and magic markers.
All children are welcome to participate, including those from areas beyond St. Joseph.
The Wolfs founded that popular program in 2022.
The “Art in the Park series” will get off to a bit of a late start because Aquiliana has been participating in an internship program in Japan, her mother told the Newsleaders. Aquiliana, 17, is a student at St. John’s Prep School. That school is a partner school with a high school in Hokkaido, Japan.
The six art sessions will take place from 9-11 a.m. every Thursday from July 10 to Aug. 14.
Here is a list of the dates and parks:
July 10: Centennial Park; July 17: Klinefelter Park; July 24: Millstream Park; July 31: Centennial Park; Aug. 7: Klinefelter Park; and Aug. 14: Millstream Park.
For the July 17 session at Klinefelter Park, participants and/or their parents are being requested to bring some art supplies or school supplies to the art sessions. Donors will receive free T-shirts. Those donated items will be given to “Greater Minnesota Family Services.” That organization, in its 30th year, works with individuals, children and families who need help with emotional and social problems that can make daily living difficult. Its staff of 200 help with emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, chemical use and school performance, among other forms of help.
