A single vehicle hydroplaned, rolled over and landed in a ditch June 26 west of Albany. Both driver and passenger were hospitalized.
On June 26, at approximately 6:36 p.m., the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received a call of a single-vehicle crash at CR 157 and 248th Avenue, west of the City of Albany.
Upon arrival on the scene deputies determined a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on CR 157 approaching 248th Avenue when it hydroplaned and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The truck then traveled into the north ditch and rolled. The driver, identified as Diego Beltran Sanchez, 21, of Long Prairie, had minor injuries and his passenger, Oscar Enrique Ramerez Mendez, 20, of Long Prairie had a face laceration and an arm injury. Both were evaluated by Albany Fire and Rescue and transported to the Melrose Hospital.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Albany Police Department and Melrose Ambulance.
