June 28
6:29 p.m. Noise complaint. 200 block of 17th Avenue SE. The complainant stated there was an ongoing issue with loud music at this address. An officer drove down 17th and 18th avenues twice, but couldn’t hear any music. The officer did see people in a pool behind the incident location but they could not hear anything. Unable to locate the source of the complaint.
June 29
4:36 p.m. Medical. 400 block of College Avenue S. Officer dispatched to a medical at College of St. Benedict soccer fields. A 17-year-old had dislocated his knee. The officer arrived after St. Joseph Fire Department personnel who was providing care but waited to guide Mayo ambulance in. Victim transported to St. Cloud Hospital. No patient contact by the officer.
June 30
1:37 p.m. Crash/no injuries. CR 121/Jade Road. While on routine patrol, an officer came across a semi that had gone into the ditch and was stuck in the mud. Spoke with juvenile driver and obtained information. Collins Brothers Towing was contacted to remove the semi from the ditch. Juvenile driver was cited. Extensive damage to the road right-of-way ditch that needs repair. City maintenance was notified.
July 2
10:36 p.m. Animal complaint. 29643 Frontage Road. Officers located an injured coyote near Stearns Electric. One of the officers shot one round to dispatch it, and the coyote ran into a field.
July 4
1:36 a.m. Intoxicated person. CR 75/CR 3. While on patrol, an officer observed an intoxicated man walking/stumbling heading westbound toward I-94. The officer stopped and checked on the man. He said he was trying to walk to his cousin’s house in Avon. The officer transported the man to the Avon location.
July 5
11:36 a.m. Alarm. 600 block of 15th Avenue NE. Officers were dispatched to an alarm at Fabral, arrived and a Jeep was in the parking lot. A man came out, said he was the plant manager and his wife is the office manager. Man provided ID. Everything else appeared fine. Door was secured by him and he called alarm company to have it reset.
July 7
9:37 a.m. Medical. 300 block of Seventh Avenue SE. A man had fallen down a flight of stairs. Officer was tied up on another medical and arrived after St. Joseph Fire Department personnel, who was tending to patient. Officer assisted with getting Mayo into building, then loading patient to cot. No other patient contact. Man transported to St. Cloud Hospital by Mayo for suspected ankle injury.
July 8
2:42 p.m. Dumping/littering. 100 block of Ash Street W. An officer was dispatched to a dumping complaint at the post office. The complainant said someone had dumped household items into their dumpster. The officer checked the items in the dumpster and found nothing with any names or documents.
July 10
4:30 p.m. Driving complaint. 75 Callaway Street E. On July 3, at approximately 10:45 a.m., a vehicle is seen entering the Government Center parking lot and parking. A woman, who was identified by office staff, exited the vehicle and entered the Government Center to conduct business. When asked for her ID, she provided a Minnesota ID and not a license. The officer ran the temporary tag on the vehicle and it is registered to the woman with the ID, who has a revoked license. The officer issued a citation, and it will be mailed.
July 11
11:34 a.m. Stalled vehicle. CR 75/College Avenue N. An officer was dispatched to a stall in the right turn lane. The complainant lost his driver’s side front tire and it was in the roadway. A semi went by and hit the tire and sent it rolling west on CR 75. The tire crossed into eastbound CR 75 and struck a vehicle that was stopped at the east bound CR 75 light and caused passenger side front-end damage to the stopped vehicle. The officer took photos of the damage and completed an info exchange sheet for both drivers. Stood by with lights until the complainant was able to get the tire back on and off the roadway.
July 12
7:08 p.m. Fire. 7939 Ridgewood Road. An officer was dispatched to a wildfire near C & L Excavating. Officer arrived on scene and the small fire was put out. The caller believed fireworks caused the fire, but no vehicles or suspects were seen.
July 13
5:19 p.m. Trespass. 100 block of Minnesota Street E. An officer was dispatched to a personal assist. The caller reported they had given permission to the neighbor to prop a ladder up on their garage, but not to go on the roof. They then observed the man on the roof. There have been previous ongoing issues, so the caller requested the man was trespassed. The officer personally served and explained the trespass notice to the man at 6:12 p.m.
