July 8
5:45 p.m. Crash. Pinecone Road/CR 120. Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash. The driver of the first vehicle stated they were heading north on Pinecone Road when they saw an ambulance approaching from behind and moved toward the center to let the ambulance pass. While stopped the driver was struck from behind by another vehicle. Both vehicles sustained damage, but no one was hurt.
July 10
7:30 a.m. Finance. The caller stated they were looking over their bank account and noticed several transactions they did not authorize. The caller stated there was a phone number associated with the transactions that belonged to AT&T prepaid services. The caller said they used to have that phone provider but cancelled several years ago. The caller stated they reported the charges to the bank, who encouraged them to file a report. Officers provided a case number for the victim to pass along to the bank to help dispute the charges.
July 11
5:50 p.m. Animal complaint. Fifth Street N. The complainant stated their family was at the playground when an unleashed dog tried attacking their dog. The complainant stated they had stuck their foot out as the other dog was running toward their dog, which caused the dog to whimper and run away. The owner of the other dog started yelling and swearing at the complainant for hurting their dog and left. The caller wanted the incident documented.
July 14
10:56 p.m. Driving complaint. 21st Avenue N. Officers were dispatched for a driving complaint. The caller stated the vehicle would make random stops in the road and appeared lost or impaired. Officers found the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop and learned the driver was learning how to drive. Due to the dangerous driving behavior, officers asked the passenger to switch places with the driver and suggested practicing driving during daylight.
July 16
6:37 p.m. Parking complaint. Roberts Road. Officers arrived to find a pickup truck parking in a handicap space without a handicap permit. Officers ran the plate and learned the vehicle did not have a disability permit assigned to it. Officers contacted the registered owner who provided several excuses to why they parked there. The owner of the vehicle was issued a citation for parking in a handicap space.
July 20
9:29 a.m. Traffic stop. First Avenue NE. Officers were on routine patrol when they saw a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The officer initiated the traffic stop and spoke with the driver, who stated they were trying to slow down. Officers issued a citation for speeding.
