Pam Ertl believes she has found her “key to wellness” and would like to help other people find their keys, too.
Ertl recently opened her own business called “Key to Wellness, LLC.” It is located in the Natural Source Holistic Health and Training Center, located at 235 Cedar St. E. in St. Joseph.
Ertl is a complementary and alternative health-care practioner, bioenergetic wellness consultant and professional educator on natural modalities or treatment tools.
Ertl said she realizes some people might not be familiar with natural modalities, and that is the reason she is opening her business.
“It’s such an important part of my life, and it changed it so much I need to share this knowledge, information and these wonderful remedies with others so they can have their own experience,” Ertl said.
Ertl does not claim to cure, diagnose or treat any illnesses. Instead, she said she guides, assists and recommends remedies.
Ertl shares information and uses a variety of energetic tools she has been professionally certified and/or trained in. She said she works with individuals to monitor their process energetically and discusses ways for that individual to integrate holistic practices to find their own unique journey to wellness.
Some of the tools Ertl works with include homeopathy; homotoxicology (detoxification practices of letting go of what does not serve you); emotional support, release and balance; BACH flower essences; aromatherapy (working with essential oils); energetic healing, cleanings and balance; hormonal harmony; digestion support; EAV (electro accupuncture); dousing (radiesthesia using a pendulum) and “Living With” consults.
The “Living With” consults are individual consults to help individuals transition into a gluten-free lifestyle due to celiac disease and/or gluten intolerance.
Ertl, who grew up in St. Cloud in a family of eight children, said she was in the insurance field for 20 years until a terrible accident occurred in 1998. The accident happened as she and her husband were exiting a retail store with electronic doors. Her husband made it out the doors, but she was trapped between the doors and incurred several injuries.
Ertl had several health issues that surfaced during the next few years after the accident. She could not find relief until she started working with the complementary and alternative health-care practice tools. She said they piqued her interest.
“I didn’t have any prior experience with these modalities,” Ertl said, “but with life-changing results, this is where my unique journey began down the path that really changed my life and is still changing my life.”
Ertl said in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, gardening, reading and exercising. She is starting to create her own homemade gifts such as hand lotions, salves, aromatherapy spray and perfume roll-ons.
“I am very passionate in creating new ideas on how I can guide my clients through their own unique journey,” Ertl said. “My passion deeply comes from seeing individuals experience their own positive changes. Every day is truly a reward for me, knowing I am there to help guide clients in taking their first steps in a positive direction by offering the key to start their own journey.”
Ertl is also a Celiac Disease Foundation support-group leader for celiac disease and gluten intolerance. She said it can be very overwhelming when a person is first starting with a gluten-free diet. The number for the support group is 320-202-0456.
Ertl is the sole owner of Key to Wellness. She works with a team of other natural-health professionals within the Natural Source. Each professional has his or her own business located under one roof at the Natural Source location.
The professionals at the Natural Source offer a variety of services to renew one’s mind, body, spirit and well-being on all levels – emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. Some of the other services and modalities that are offered at the Natural Source, besides the services offered by Ertl, include educational classes offered throughout the year, meditation, Reiki energy therapy, spiritual readings and guidance and massage.
Ertl said the Natural Source recently became a member of the St. Joseph Area Chamber of Commerce. They are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. For more information contact 320-363-8463.
