Flags were flown at half-mast last Tuesday, May 15, in honor of police officers who served to keep the peace, including those who died in the line of duty.
Tuesday was Peace Officers’ Memorial Day nationwide, and the week of May 13-19 is National National Police Week.
Sartell Police Chief Jim Hughes noted the special day and week at the May 14 Sartell City Council meeting. Mayor Joe Perske then read an official proclamation to encourage all people in Sartell to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of police officers throughout the years.
