Sartell area motorists are advised construction will begin July 23 on the CR 120 improvement project, which will require the complete closure of CR 120 at the CentraCare Circle intersection.
The work is just one part of a vast project to create a diverging diamond interchange at CR 120 and Hwy. 15 near the Epic Center. The interchange will be the first of its kind in the state.
Detour signs will be posted and will use Connecticut Avenue, 23rd Street and Leander Avenue (formerly 50th Avenue) to re-route traffic. Motorists should expect delays, and they are urged to find alternate routes during this time. This phase of construction is expected to last about one month, at which time the CH 120 and Leander Ave. (50th Avenue) will then be closed.
A map of the detour route for the first phase of construction is available on the Stearns County website at www.co.stearns.mn.us/PropertyRoads/RoadConstruction/CSAH120Improvements. At that website, the public can sign up to be notified by email whenever project updates are posted.
The contractor for the project is Hardrives Inc. of Rogers. Questions or concerns may be directed to the Stearns County Highway Dept. at 255-6180. Its email address is highway@co.stearns.mn.us.
