A new house of worship, Abounding Joy Lutheran Church, will host a worship service, dedication and public open house Sunday, May 17.
There will be a worship service, along with a rite of dedication, at 10 a.m. A community open house will take place from 1-3 p.m. that will include a brief dedication program at 2 p.m. All are welcome.
Abounding Joy is a five-year-old congregation that is affiliated with both the North American Lutheran Church and Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.
In recent years, the congregation, led by Pastor Tom Wright, met in the community room of the Boy Scout headquarters building in Sartell.
The new 10,500 square-foot church is located at 6000 CR 120 on the border of St. Cloud and Sartell, one and one-half mile due west of CentraCare Health Plaza and one-half mile west of Fitness Evolution.
