National Night Out brought friends and neighbors together in towns across the country on Aug. 4. Rice was no different, with many gathering at Lions Community Park to enjoy bounce houses, fire engines and good food.

Friends gathered during the second annual National Night Out in Rice on Aug. 4. From left to right, Jack, 5, Abby, Luci, 3 and Josh Waldoch visited and ate with friends Sarah, Holly, 7, and Mike Anderson. The Andersons’ second child is not featured because she was enjoying the bounce house.

Trever, 11, and Kevin, 16, Robak of Rice toured the fire truck that was on display during the event.

Aubrey Skroch, 3, of Rice was all smiles as she played in the bounce house at the National Night Out held at Rice Lions Park.

The second annual Rice National Night Out featured two bounce houses which entertained the kids while parents visited on the lawn.

Mallory Jennings, 11, of Rice gets her face painted by Jacki Retka during Rice’s National Night Out. Retka works at Kampa Gerbi Associates Insurance Agency, who was a sponsor of the event.
