Dec. 20

1:01 a.m. Suspicious activity. Fifth Avenue N. Neighbors noticed a car parked in front of a vacant house, with people climbing out of the vehicle and jumping on top of the car. Police found the car at the residence, empty, with a flat tire.

10:50 a.m. Theft. Second Avenue N. A gas drive-off was reported the previous evening. Police met with the employee who reported it and received a good description of the car. The person was contacted and the matter taken care of.

Dec. 22

6:31 p.m. Alarm. Second Avenue N. Officers were called to a business for an alarm. Before officers could arrive, the alarm was canceled.

Dec. 23

2:30 a.m. Noise complaint. 15th Street Court. Loud, bass noise was heard coming from a residence. Officers made contact with the resident and advised them to keep the noise down.

Dec. 24

4 a.m. Medical. Second Street N. Officers responded to a person with abdominal pain, and a history of abdominal pain. They were transported to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross.

Dec. 25

2:29 a.m. Dispute. Benton Drive N. A 30-year-old male from St. Cloud was reportedly in the bathroom of an establishment, intoxicated, with a knife. Officers were able to locate the man, who was identified by the business owner. Police searched the man for weapons and found a knife, which the business owner identified. The owner simply wanted the male gone, so police drove the male to his home.

10:32 p.m. Medical. Second Avenue S. An officer arrived and found a male lying on his side. The officer turned the person onto their back and tried to stimulate him with no response. Gold Cross arrived and transported the male to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Dec. 26

11:19 a.m. Traffic accident. Summit Avenue N. A 19-year-old male lost control of his vehicle while turning from Second Street N. due to ice and snow. The driver hit a junction box owned by Xcel Energy. The company was notified and officers remained at the scene until they arrived.

Dec. 27

6:31 p.m. Hit-and-run. Second Avenue N. A resident heard a loud bang outside his residence but dismissed it until a neighbor told him someone had hit his truck, which was parked on the street.

Dec. 28

11:25 a.m. Welfare check. Fifth Avenue N. A relative was concerned about a local man. Police found the man safe inside his home, and he was asked to contact the concerned relative.

Dec. 29

11:17 p.m. Noise complaint. Second Avenue N. The resident responsible for the music told officers he wasn’t aware how late it was, and that he would turn down his music.

Dec. 30

3:30 p.m. Criminal damage to property. 13th Avenue S. A female reported two windows on her vehicle were smashed out, though nothing inside the vehicle was taken. The female had a suspect in mind, who was contacted by the police.

Dec. 31

7:44 p.m. Fire. Second Avenue N. A fire was reported, but officers nearby could not find it but could smell smoke. The complainant was contacted, and with their help officers were able to find artificial plants around a metal post had been burnt. A cigarette can was located near the site.

Jan. 1

12:30 p.m. Animal complaint. Second Avenue N. A caller stated a dog was observed locked in a vehicle for more than one hour. Officers responded but did not locate the vehicle described. The temperature outside at the time was 28 degrees.

Jan. 2

9:56 p.m. Shots fired. Oak Ridge Park. A caller reported hearing eight to 10 loud bangs behind their residence in the park. An officer checked the area and found nothing.

Jan. 3

12:28 a.m. Suspicious activity. Second Avenue N. Police observed a vehicle parked in the front of a closed business. The driver stated she simply stopped there to throw her trash away. The area was cleared.

Jan. 4

6:47 a.m. Medical. Fifth Avenue N. Authorities responded to a male who could not stand. Upon arrival, police found the man sitting in his bedroom. He was lifted into a wheel chair with the assistance of Gold Cross. He refused medical attention as he had a doctor’s appointment later in the morning.

8:27 a.m. Theft. Benton Drive S. Police responded to a theft at a local fast food chain. The manager stated sometime during the night, someone had stolen the donation box that was attached to the drive-thru window. The surveillance video was reviewed, but the suspect’s face could not be clearly seen. A copy of the video was made for authorities. No further evidence has been found at this time.

Jan. 8

1:02 p.m. Suspicious activity. 10th Avenue N.E. Staff at a local business reported a vehicle in their parking lot where someone inside was sleeping. Police made contact with the driver who stated he was waiting to pick up his fiance.

Jan. 9

4 p.m. Animal complaint. Welsh Court. A complainant called authorities regarding a black lab that appears to be locked in its kennel. The dog had adequate shelter and food; no action needed to be taken.

7:30 p.m. Medical. 13th Street Circle. Police responded to a female who was having a seizure. She was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital by Gold Cross.
