The Paramount Theatre and Visual Arts Center is changing its name effective immediately to better reflect who they are and what they do.
The organization and the facility will be known as the Paramount Center for the Arts. The name represents the totality of all that goes on in the theater, the visual arts and gallery spaces, and education and outreach programming, according to officials.
The Articles of Incorporation have been amended and the new name filed with the State of Minnesota and all legal and promotional materials will be changed for the coming season. A new logo and word mark has been developed.
In October of 1994, the group was incorporated as Paramount Arts Resource Trust with a mission to work toward raising money to renovate the Paramount Theatre and develop an arts district downtown.
Paramount Arts Resource Trust is no longer apt for what happens every day at the Paramount Center for the Arts. Entertainment, educational opportunities for all ages, art exhibitions, gallery sales, outreach work throughout the community and in the building is now what happens daily.
