Students have been busy practicing their songs for the story that revolves around Artaban (Artie) as he travels to Bethlehem in search of the newborn King of Kings. Along the way he is joined by an angel, Mortimer, who helps him. During the journey they meet some people who are in need, and Artie misses the birth of Jesus but learns about the importance of helping others.
The performance will be held Thursday, Dec. 19 at the College of St. Benedict Escher Auditorium in the Benedicta Arts Center. The prelude begins at 5:45 p.m, the preschoolers will sing at 6:15 p.m., the school band performs at 6:30 p.m. and the program will start at 7 p.m. The concert is free. Food-shelf donations will be collected.
