The St. Joseph American Legion Post 328 is named after John Kuebelbeck, the first St. Joseph soldier killed in action while serving in France during World War I. This is his grave marker at Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial Romagne-Sous-Montfaucon (Meuse, France) The marker indicates Montana as his home. He was born in Wisconsin, grew up in St. Joseph, and worked and lived in Montana before serving in the military.
