The AmericInn in Sartell has joined the “Hotels for Heroes” program that allows free hotel stays for wounded members of the military and for their families.

“Hotels for Heroes” encourages AmericInn guests nationwide to donate their “Easy Awards Guest Loyalty Points” to the program. That, in turn, makes it possible for wounded troops and family members to stay free at AmericInns while they are receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities.

“We are pleased to join with AmericInn hotels across the country in supporting ‘Hotels for heroes’ as another demonstration of our ongoing support for America’s military, said Jerry Westhoff, general manager of AmericInn, Sartell.

The Sartell AmericInn is one of more than 260 in 27 states.

AmericInn’s participation in the Hotels for Heroes program has been widely lauded by veterans and military officials. The program is administered by the Fisher House Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting America’s wounded military personnel, as well as their families. The Fisher House pools donations

from AmericInn’s Easy Rewards points, along with points from other participating hotel companies.

AmericInn customers can donated Easy Rewards points by logging onto their accounts and accessing the “redeem” and “donation” tabs.

This is not the first time AmericInn has been honored by veterans’ organizations and the military. The hotel chain has long been committed to the welfare of veterans. For instance, it offers a discount on room rates to active-duty and retired members of the military, along with their dependents. Veterans can receive the discount simply by requesting the “AmericInn Military Rate” when they make reservations at an AmericInn. It can be accessed online at AmericInn.com or by calling toll-free at 1-800-634-3444.

AmericInn has been honored twice by the U.S. Department of Defense for its military-support efforts. Those awards include the “Seven Seals Award” and the “Above and Beyond Award.”

Last year, AmericInn in Sartell – and AmericInns elsewhere – involved its employees and others to gather comfort items that were packed and sent to military troops overseas. It also provided many gift items such as tote bags and bicycles for families of military members.

The hotel chain has designated military support and patriotism as part of its mission.
